Bleeding

This is a poem I wrote in November of '09. I tend to write poetry when I am "between stories."

Bleeding

We all let blood
And bleeding is changing
When it leaves us alive

Sometimes healed
Sometimes broken

Our hearts beat
Blood pounding
Through our bodies

The impulses
Pouring through our minds

We are assailed, yet we stand
We have been standing all our lives
In the direct path of the universe

For the consolation of the body
And the progress of the mind
