No Redemption

The clock has stopped
Let the mourners in, the silence
Broken by their muffled weeping
Attending to the dead

I prayed that there was some mistake
When I received the call
How easy it would’ve been
To end your life as well

You may pass this off as history
With your sour, perverted thoughts
Still as dust in the corners of memory
But history is fated to repeat

The caged bird dreams of the wind
Dream becoming nightmare
Once realization comes
The worms wait patiently
For their turn at retribution
